Fukuoka's cigar lounges sit almost entirely in one walkable nightlife belt. Of the 31 venues listed here, 10 are in Nakasu, 4 in Nishi-Nakasu just across the canal, 2 in Yakuin and 1 in Daimyo near Tenjin, 1 by Hakata Station and 2 in Kokura on the Kitakyushu side. By ward that is 10 in Hakata-ku, 10 in Chuo-ku and 6 in Kitakyushu, so if you are staying near Nakasu-Kawabata or Tenjin Station the nearest cigar lounge is usually a few minutes on foot.
Late is normal here: 20 of the 31 keep serving past midnight, which makes Fukuoka an easy city for a cigar after dinner. 14 venues are marked beginner-friendly, where the bartender picks a cigar to your strength and budget and cuts it for you, and 12 are comfortable to visit alone. 30 of the 31 have a listed phone number — worth a call on a Friday or Saturday, because most of these are small counter bars. Three are dedicated cigar bars (Bar RB in Nakasu, Bar humidor in Nishi-Nakasu and Bar Dondada), and two more sell cigars as well as pour drinks.
